Joyce Cross Bowery, age 78, of Ethridge, TN passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Southern TN Regional Health System in Lawrenceburg, TN. She was a native of Lawrence County, TN, a homemaker, and a member of Campbellsville Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Ernest Hammond; her mother, Letha Ridgeway Hammond Tucker; her first husband, Jessie Ray Cross; her second husband, George Bowery; five brothers, Otto Hammond, Leo Hammond, Cleo Hammond, Ozzo Hammond, and Roy Hammond; and one sister, Betty Jane Eighner.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna Cross Wells (David) of Pulaski, TN, and Dena Cross Rochelle of Lawrenceburg, TN; one son, Jon Cross (Melissa) of Ethridge, TN; one brother, Bobby Hammond of Malvern, AR; four grandchildren, Brooke Cross Bradley, Jason Cross, Connor Rochelle, and Jillian Gokey; and four great-grandchildren, Mason Moseley, Lilabelle Cross, Maggie Cross, and Jasper Cross.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 3:00 PM Sunday, July 14, 2024, with Theodore Durham officiating. Interment will follow at Baker Cemetery in Ethridge, TN. The family suggests memorials be made to the MS Foundation.
