In Loving Memory of Joyce Bennett
Joyce Bennett, age 78, of Wichita Falls, TX, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2024. She was born on August 15, 1946, and lived a life full of love, laughter, and service.
Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, granny, and great-grandmother. Her family meant the world to her, and she was known for her unwavering love and support. As a pastor’s wife from 1975 to 2022, Joyce played a central role in her church community, providing care, encouragement, and guidance to all who knew her. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she loved the Lord with all of her heart.
In addition to her family and ministry, Joyce had a deep passion for cosmetology. She worked as a cosmetologist and a cosmetology instructor, sharing her knowledge and skills with countless students, and she always encouraged them to do their best and pursue their dreams.
Joyce’s laughter was infectious and brought joy to everyone around her. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel seen, valued, and loved. Whether through her warm smile, kind words, or heartfelt prayers, Joyce left a lasting impact on all who crossed her path.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James & Estelle Hill of Falkville, AL, and her siblings Glenda Jane Hill, Janice Brown, Wallace Hill, & WayIon Hill.
Joyce is survived by her dedicated husband, Ray Bennett of Wichita Falls, TX, her children, Shannon Bennett of Falkville, AL, and Stephanie Sowell (Derek) of Wichita Falls, TX., her grandchildren, Kennerly Brubaker of York Town, PA, Cruise Sowell (Paige) of Wichita Falls, TX, Caleb Sowell (Danielle) of Wichita Falls, TX, and Cassidy Wilson (Kell) of Athens, GA.
A service celebrating Joyce’s life will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. Friends and family are invited to the viewing at 9:30 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM at Peck Funeral Home in Hartselle, AL. Interment will follow at Union Hill Cemetery in Eva, AL.
Pallbearers: Cruise Sowell, Kell Wilson, Derek Sowell, Caleb Sowell, Matt Hill & Don Hill.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to City Hope Church.
