Joyce Annette Jobe was born May 16, 1938, in Tishomingo, Mississippi. She was raised in Cherokee, Alabama and moved to Huntsville to work for AT&T before marrying Grady Sherman Jobe. She worked as a homemaker and raised one son, Eric Shane Jobe.

She loved animals, cooking, and books, and had a strong appetite for knowledge on a variety of subjects. Joyce was a kind, empathic, generous person who was immediately liked by everyone she met. She was loved by her friends and very much loved by her family.

Joyce passed away on June 5, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Harold and Eunice Burns Hamm, and her husband, Grady Sherman Jobe. She is survived by her son, Eric Shane Jobe; her sister, Linda Hamm Graben; and her brothers, William David “Billy” Hamm and Bobby Burns Hamm. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Maple Hill Cemetery.
