Joyce Annette Hicks age 76 of Florence passed from this life on Saturday, July 14th, 2012. Visitation will be Wednesday the 18th from 11am till 1pm at Elkins Funeral home of Florence. The service will follow at 1pm in the chapel with Brother Mark Mayfield officiating. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. She was preceded in death by her parents Lewis Elbert and Nallie Augusta Weaver. Joyce is survived by her husband John H. Hicks Sr. One son, John H. Hicks Jr. and wife Sarah. One daughter, Kristi Sockwell and husband Stacy. One sister, Janice Long and husband David. Two Granddaughters, Lily Catherine and Emma Clayton Hicks and one grandson, Tillman Reid Sockwell. She was a member of the Red Hats Club, Eastern Star and an Associate Director of the North Alabama State Fair. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of choice. Pallbearers will be Ned Cox, Robert Chard, Kenneth Bailey, Jamie Jamison, Foy James and Patrick Hood. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Directors and Associates of the North Alabama State Fair.
