Joyce Anne Duckworth Parks, 84, retired employee of Farm Bureau, and resident of Manchester, died June 1, 2024 at her residence.
A Funeral Service will be conducted Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Jerry Pullum officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. Born October 18, 1939 in Columbia, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Abraham Lincoln Duckworth and the late Carrie Smithson Duckworth. Joyce was a current member of Trinity Baptist Church in Manchester, Tennessee, and was a former 60 year member of First Baptist Church in Columbia. She enjoyed crafting, especially crocheting, cross stitching, and loved word puzzles and telling jokes. Joyce loved her family and being with them.
She is survived by her daughter, Leigh Anne (Leonard) Parks-Cooper; grandchildren, Rebecca (David) Jones, Lacy (Jesse) Wellman, Shelly (William) Carmichael; great grandchildren, Nathan Jones, Olivia Jones, Hannah Wellman, Alison Jones, William Carmichael, Jr., CoCo Wellman, Briar Wellman, Gabriel Carmichael, Jacy Wellman, Layne Wellman; niece, Lisa Thurman; and brother-in-law, J.O. Thurman.
In addition to her parents, Joyce is proceeded in death by her husband, Douglas Rector Parks; sister, Elna Faye Duckworth Thurman.
Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Trinity Baptist Woman’s Bible Study.
