Joyce Ann Sherrill, age 89 of Estill Springs, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. A native of Franklin County, she was born in Decherd on April 25, 1935, to the late Jessie Farris and Elsie (Clark) Farris Morris. She attended Franklin County Schools. Before her retirement, she was employed for seventeen years as a floor supervisor at R and W Apparel. She had previously worked as a machinist and welder at Rexhord in Dolton, Illinois, and had been the owner and operator of the Knotty Pine Motel for nine years. When she was able, she loved going to the beach and fishing. She enjoyed watching westerns and University of Tennessee sports. But most of all, she cherished the time spent with her beloved family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joyce was a member of Keith Springs Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Joe Sherrill; sons, Jimmy Wayne Sherrill, and Jerry Sherrill; and sisters, Dimple Branch, Eloise Sells, and Janice Mooningham. Joyce is survived by her loving daughter, JoAnn Sherrill; son-in-love, Mike Rumisek; grandchildren, Amanda (Wilson) Spain, Michelle (Jeremy) McCormick, and Shawn (Amanda) Sherrill; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, August 2, 2024, in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Bradford officiating. Interment will be at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
