Joyce Ann Pounders, 87, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Tishomingo Manor in Iuka. She was born March 8, 1938, to Azzle and Susie Nix. She was an active member of Little Creek Baptist Church. She worked for Marietta Manufacturing for 40+ years.
A Celebration of Life will be at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, March 22, 2025, at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Jeremy Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Zion Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:30 A.M. until 1:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
She is survived by two sons, Mitchell Pounders and his wife Jeanice and Tony Pounders and his wife, Angela; two brothers, A.C. Nix and his wife, Eunell and Tommy Nix and his wife, Kathy; one sister, Carolyn Downs; seven grandchildren, Beth Hughes(Joey), Jonathan Pounders (Leslie), Stevan Pounders (Jordan) Kelsey Gant (Bryson), Lauren Saucier (Zach), Jennifer Williams (Troy) and Jessica Taylor (Justin); 13 great- grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Pounders; her parents; and one brother-in-law, Benny Downs.
Pallbearers are Kade Hughes, Jonathan Pounders, Parker Pounders, Gary Calley, Sawyer Pounders, Stevan Pounders, Jamie Holcomb and Phillip Nix.
