Joyce Ann Hayes, age 81 of Huntland, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Bailey Manor. A native of Franklin County, she was born on September 19, 1942, to the late Russell and Inez Virginia (Davis) May. She attended business school and worked as a secretary until her retirement. Joyce Ann enjoyed travelling, especially out west, as well as researching her family ancestry, and watching westerns. She will be remembered for her strong will and outgoing personality. Joyce Ann attended Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Gordon Plant and Wayne Hayes; son, Phil Plant; brothers, Billy May and Kenneth May; and nephew, Jeff May. Joyce Ann is survived by her sisters-in-law, Jean May and Nancy May; nieces and nephews, Lori (Butch) Jack, Wade (Tracy) May, Dara (Mike) Pitts, and Tracie May; great-nieces and nephews, David Jack, Leighann (Andrew) Chandler, Russ (Jaden) May, Jordan May, Cayla (Cameron) Lowery, Dalton May, Levi May, Makensey May, Abby Pitts, Olivia Pitts, and Evan Pitts; and great-great-nieces and nephew, Delaney Lowery, Walker Lowery, and Chesney Lowery. Visitation will be from 12-2pm on Monday, September 23, 2024, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. David Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Huntland.
