Joy Karen Timmons Prince, age 65, died Monday evening at Jackson General Hospital.
Mrs. Prince was born and reared in Henderson, the daughter of the late Robert Elmer and Gwendolyn Buna Smith Timmons. She graduated from Chester County High school in 1965 and married William Arthur ‘Bill’ Prince, I that same year. Mr. Prince had a career in the military and Mrs. Prince in nursing. She attended nursing school at Selmer where she received her LPN. She had worked at the Children’s Clinic in Jackson and more recently in home health for an agency in Murfreesboro. She was a member of Henderson First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband William Arthur Prince, I of Henderson, a son William Arthur Prince, II of Navarre, FL, a daughter Angela Prince Jackson of Henderson and a brother William Kernie Timmons of Kingsport, TN, 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Bobby Jo Timmons and a grandchild Nicci Hollenback.
Memorial services will be 3 PM Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Henderson with Brad Patterson, Eric Martin, and Frank Evans officiating. A private family burial will be later at Unity Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from 1 pm Wednesday until 3 pm.
The family request in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Grace Baptist Church building fund.
