Joy Ann Chong, 83, of Madison, Alabama (formerly of Miamisburg, OH) passed away on January 9, 2022.

Joy was born on March 17, 1938, in Marion Ohio to Ivan and Edna Durham. Joy graduated from Lebanon High School in Lebanon Ohio in 1956. She worked at Monsanto Mound Lab in Miamisburg OH. After raising her children, she returned to work at Dayton Ear, Nose & Throat Surgeons. Joy was an avid gardener as well as a wonderful cook. She also enjoyed serving the community via the Burg Center, United Way, and was active in many areas of Parkview United Methodist Church. Joy and Clyde moved to Madison Alabama following their retirement to be near family.

Survivors include son, Jack Chong (Dyan); daughter, Missy Swager (David); sister, Janet Longacre; daughter-in-law, Patricia Puckett; and grandchildren, Kyle and Christopher Puckett, Lauren and Jonathon Chong, and Sarah and Hannah Swager; and many nieces and nephews. Joy was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Dr. Clyde H.H. Chong; son, Richard Puckett; grandson, Matthew Puckett; brother, Forest Durham; and sister, LaVina Wilson.

A Celebration of her life will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022, from 2-4pm at the Villas At Madison’s Community Center, 1310 Cathedral Circle, Madison Alabama 35758. We will also hold a memorial service March 19, 2022, at Parkview United Methodist Church in Miamisburg Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to Parkview United Methodist Church, 3713 Benner Road, Miamisburg Ohio 45342 in her name.
