MaMa Dean Callis

Josie W. Callis was born April 27, 1928 and passed away on June 14, 2015. Dean was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Callis in 2001; her parents, Curtis and Ruby Daniels; sister, Shirley Smith; grandson, Greg Whaley.

She is survived by Peggy McCallister and husband Tom, Jerry Callis and wife Nita, John Callis and wife Kathy Jo, Cindy Callis, Jim Callis and wife Sandy, Jack Callis and wife Angie; grandchildren, Curt, Tabitha, Will, Jed, Michael, Billie Jo, Josh, Tom, Brett.

MaMa Dean had 100’s of children she loved that were not born to her, but it didnt matter, she loved them all.

She worked at Milan Shirt Factory and during the 60’s she started cub scouts in Trenton and made the uniforms. She was a proud band mom. Mama Dean worked for Trenton Schools and lastely worked for Milan Schools. She was on a bowling team for years. Her and Cindy were members of Tops in Kentucky for years. She loved riding motorcycles and mostly she loved life.

Memorial services will be held June 27, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church and all are invited. The family wishes to thank Trenton Nursing Home for loving her and hospice, who let her die with out any pain.
