Joshua "Josh" Aaron Michael Eckleberry  Joshua “Josh” Aaron Michael Eckleberry, age 37, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024 at his residence. Josh was born March 5, 1987 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois to Gary Lynn Eckleberry and Jeanne Ruth Caldwell Eckleberry. The family relocated to Arab, AL when Josh was an infant and has since called this home. Josh was a Christian and high school graduate. He worked in construction with the 31-W Insulation Contracting firm in Madison, AL. He and Cassandra Lynn Dixon Eckleberry have been married for over 18 years.
Josh’s family and friends were very important to him. He considered visiting and spending time with those dear to him as time well spent. He especially enjoyed supporting his children in their athletic endeavors. Josh’s quite and leisure time was usually spent watching the History Channel on TV as he had a great interest in history. He also had an artistic interest and talent for drawing and has created several amazing pieces. His outdoor activities involve fishing, camping and spelunking (cave exploring). Josh was a great son, husband, father, brother and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Josh is survived by a loving family including his wife, Cassandra Eckleberry; mother, Ruthie Eckleberry; son, Jonah Eckleberry; daughter, Jaila Eckleberry; sisters, Francesca “Fran” Eckleberry and Ashley Eckleberry (Rendan) Venable; nephews, Connor Hudson and Nate Venable; and niece, Amara Venable.
Family preceding Josh in death includes his father, Gary Eckleberry and his brother, Jonah Eckleberry.
Extended family and friends will gather for a visitation to honor Josh on Sunday, April 14, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. The funeral service and burial will be in Springerton, Illinois.
