Joshua Adam Mikkelsen, age 26, from Altoona passed away Monday, August 12, 2024 at his home.
His funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, August 15, 2024 at Albertville Memorial Chapel. He will be laid to rest at Altoona-Walnut Grove Cemetery. Bro. Morrell Upchurch and Bro. Stephen Casey will officiate the service. The graveside service will be conducted by Matthew Malone and Aaron Richards. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 4:00 before the service.
Joshua is survived by his dad; Andrew, mama; Sarah and brother; Jonathan, grandparents; Carmela Mikkelsen and Diane Cousins (Phil). He is also survived by his aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents; William Mikkelsen, Robert Williams and Shirley Freeman Williams.
Joshua was a minister in the Church of God and loved evangelizing to spread the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. His hearts desire was to see all come to repentance and none perish. He was a talented musician, singer and song writer who loved sharing his gifts, but never to his praise, but that God would get all the glory. His smile could light up the darkest night and He shined the love and joy of Jesus everywhere he went. To know him was to love him and only Heaven knows how many lives he touched. Even in his own suffering and battle with cancer, he faithfully held to his faith and never stopped praising God. He loved his family and his family loved him. Daddy bear, Mama bear and brother bear will never be the same, but yet they continue to hope and trust that there will be a great reunion day. Eternity together!
