Josephine Lamb IveyJosephine Lamb Ivey, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and servant of God, parted from us to be with Him on Saturday, October 12, 2024. At 84 years of age, she passed away peacefully in her home.

Josie was born on August 17, 1940 into a large family, to the late Jimmy and Flossy Lamb as the 4th of 11 children. She met the love of her life, Bill Ivey, and they wed on May 17, 1958. As the devoted wife of a preacher, she spent her life by his side, loving God and her family to the depths of her soul. She found joy in the beauty of creation, spending countless hours in her garden or painting the woodworking projects of her husband.

With a smile that was never faltered and heart that was an endless well of warmth and selflessness, she was a beacon of kindness to everyone who knew her. Her life was a testament to her faith, and she leaves behind a lasting imprint on those fortunate enough to have shared in her journey. Though she is deeply missed, we take comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the arms of our Savior, whom she served so faithfully.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill Ivey. She is surived by her two sons, Roger Ivey (and wife, Lynette) and Billy Joe Ivey; grandchildren, Roger Ivey, Jr. (and wife, Brittany), Jesse Ivey (and wife, Lacy), and Shaina Deal (and husband, Daniel); as well as great-grandchildren, Jada, Sadie, Allie, Eli, Penny, and Paisley.

Though we grieve the loss of your gentle soul, We rejoice in knowing you’re finally whole. From weakness to glory, you’ve been set free, Resting forever in eternity.

Visitation for Mrs. Ivey will be held on Thursday, October 17th, from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at Berryhill Funeral Home. A service will immediately follow at 11:00 A.M., with burial taking place at Plainview Cemetery.
