Josephine Darby Winters, 92, died February 10, 2024 at the North Alabama Medical Center after a brief illness.
Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Winters, and her parents Will and Annie Mae Darby.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a devoted Christian and the oldest member of Canaan Methodist Church.
She is survived by daughter, Charlotte (Tommy) Heaps, grandson, Will (Whitney) Heaps, granddaughter, Laura (John) Peden, great granddaughter, Vivian Echols Heaps, and great grandson, William Andrew Peden.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Canaan Methodist Church from 12:00 to 2:00, with the celebration of life service at 2:00, with Rev. Tommy Heaps officiating. Burial will be in Canaan Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Will Heaps, John Peden, Mike Hamm, Mike Lack, James Vaden, and Randall Vaden.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Canaan Methodist Church, Cemetery Fund. Checks may be sent to 4305 County Road 137, Florence, Alabama 35633.
