Mrs. Josephine Brown Summers of New Market, AL. who was born on October 30, 1944, passed away on October 14, 2024. She was 79.
Mrs. Josephine was a proud business owner in Ardmore, TN for many years. In later years she spent time attending church, visiting the sick, and spending time with her family. The things that brought her the most joy were being a mother and grandmother while serving her Lord and Savior.
She is survived by 2 sons, Sonney Summers of Hazel Green, AL. and Charles Summers of New Market, Al:, 2 sisters, Joyce Goodner and Janice Patterson; Son in law, David Childers; Daughter-in-law, Arlene Summers. 10 grandchildren: Erania (Jason) Estes, Joshua Moscato, Sonney Summers Jr, Clara Reiber Thomas, Aleshia Summers (Rocky), Frances (Jason) Ferguson, Jessica Moore, Natasha (Matthew) Bailey, Chase (Ashley) Summers, Wesley Summers.
18 Great Grandchildren. Natalee, Karson, Ethan, Eli, Annah, Victoria, Kristopher, Aiden, Erin, Micah, Yancy, Elizabeth, Matthew, Emily, Blade, Kaylup, Elijah, and Samantha; 6 Great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Temon Brown; her mother, Clara Morgan Brown; Her husband, Charles “Sonney” Summers; her daughter, Sherry Summers Childers; her son, Edward Scott Summers; her grandsons, Sean Summers and Barney Jackson; her daughter-in-law, Christine Summers; her great-granddaughter, Armoni Summers; her four brothers: Cam , Leo, Carlos, and Hoyt Brown and 3 sisters, Laverne Balch, Era Williams, and Zady Laird.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 11am until 2pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home Funeral services will follow at 2pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will then be in Eilliott Cemetery in Ardmore.
