Joseph W. Sallis, 94, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023, at the State Veterans Home in Oxford. He was born November 21, 1928 to the late Arnold Clovis Sallis and the late Retha Robison Sallis in Itawamba County. He retired from Fiat Chrysler Cooperation after many years of service. He was a member of Memorial Methodist Church. He enjoyed Master Sergeant in the United States Army and was veteran of the Korean War. After he returned from the Korean War, he started working at American Motors, where he worked until his retirement in April of 1986. He enjoyed working on vehicles, landscaping, and working around his property on his tractor.
Services will be at 11am on Wednesday November 22, 2023, at Senter Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Jarrell officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10am-11am on Wednesday November 22 at Senter Funeral Home.
Senter Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Barbara Sallis of Fulton, son, Carlos Sallis of Gurnee, IL, grandchildren, Erik Joseph (Lynn) Sallis of Portland, OR, Kristen (Ian) Secviar of Valparaiso, IN, Evan Michael (Stephanie) Sallis of Fulton, great grandchildren, Willow, Isla, and Jaime, nieces, Lyn Pierce of Fulton,Carolyn (Glen) Rutledge of AR, and Tammy Brannan of Atlanta.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold Clovis Sallis, and Retha Sallis, sisters, Edith Pierce, and Rae Isom, and a brother, Arnold Clovis Sallis, Jr
