Joseph Theodore Keweza, age 78, of Huntsville, Alabama passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021 in Huntsville, AL. Joseph was born October 12, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Rosemary Keweza.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 49 years, Jean Keweza; son, Joseph W. Keweza (Heather), daughter, Stephanie Clark, daughter, Alison Blackwood (Matthew); grandchildren, Makayla Keweza, Makenzie Keweza, Lorianna Clark, Daniel Clark, Harrison Blackwood, Hayden Blackwood, Margaret Blackwood; sisters, Barbara Morrissette, Jan Holley; two fur babies, Heidi and Violet; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Keweza was a U.S. Army Veteran. He volunteered with the Boy Scouts and NAMI. Joe exemplified the qualities of outstanding leadership, respect, responsibility, and integrity in all avenues of his professional life. Mr. Keweza’s 30-year career with KBR included over 20 years with the legacy CAS, Inc. He positively impacted the company, its customers, his coworkers, and his community. He is a well-recognized figure always participating and supporting efforts on the job and off. He set an example of technical expertise, great leadership, and caring community support.

Mr. Keweza was a Manager with KBR supporting many US Army systems most notable the PATRIOT Air Defense system. Joe was the author of many software programs and technical publications and established the PATRIOT Automated Logistics System (PALS) Test lab which has served the PATRIOT system for over 30 years.

Joe volunteered and served as the President of CAS CARES for over 30 years which was instrumental in providing over 1.8 Million Dollars to local nonprofits and charities.

Joe was the recipient of the Don Hershey Award. Awarded to individuals who demonstrate the Values of Respect, Responsibility, and Integrity.

He will be missed by his many friends and colleagues.

A Funeral Service for Joe will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at 2:00pm at Valhalla Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens at the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, with Military Honors.
