Joseph Porter ‘Joe’ Sims, Sr. age 77 died Thursday morning at his home in Bartlett.
Mr. Sims was a swimming pool repairman, stamped concrete contractor, U. S. Marine Veteran, and a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Memphis.
He is survived by his wife Judy Ward Sims of Bartlett, daughter Cindy Levinson and husband Peter of Charlotte, NC, a brother Harry Sims of Southaven, MS four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and his mother-in-law Florence Melton Ward of Finger.
He was preceded in death by a son Joe Sims, Jr. in 1997 and a brother Walter Sims.
Graveside services will be 12 noon Saturday at Finger Cemetery with Rev. Jolly Sebastian officiating.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford – Casey Chapel from 10:00 AM Saturday until 11:30 AM.
