Joseph L. Brink – Obituary

JosephJoseph L. Brink, 87, of Florence died Sunday, June 8, 2014, at his residence.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Elkins Funeral Home from 6-8 PM.  A graveside service will be Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Oakwood Cemetery in Sheffield, at 11 AM with Deacon William Clawson officiating.

Mr. Brink served in the US Navy during WWII, he was a Radar Man Third Class and served on the USS Manila Bay.  He received the WWII Victory Medal, American Area Ribbon, and Asiatic Pacific Theatre Medal.  He was a graduate of Coffee High School and University of Tennessee.  He was an Industrial Engineer at Reynolds in Alloys Plant and at McCook, Illinois.  He pitched for the Florence Raiders and was a member of the 1954 State Fast Pitch Championship Team.

 

Mr. Brink was preceded in death by his wife Rubye Martin Brink.

 

He is survived by his daughter, Cathy Krumholz; two grandchildren, Joseph Todd Krumholz (Sara) and Stacy Ann Krumholz; one great-grandchild, Harper Krumholz; many nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Dear Cathy, I hope you got my previous post about my time working and car pooling with Joe when we worked at Reynolds back in the mid-60s and I lived across the street.
