Joseph "Joe" H Cothran  Joseph “Joe” H. Cothran, 89, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024. He was born in York, SC, lived and retired in Decatur, AL, then moved to Lynn Haven, FL to be near his daughter. He and his wife were members of First Baptist Church of Decatur, AL for over thirty years then moved their membership to First Baptist Church of Panama City, FL in 2017.

He worked as a pipe fitter and welder for a paper mill until he retired in 1999. He was heavily involved in church activities over the years including driving a bus to pick up children from impoverished neighborhoods to allow them a chance to hear about Jesus. He loved cooking breakfast for his family on Saturday mornings. He was an avid Alabama football fan – Roll Tide.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, James and Emma Cothran; two brothers, Willie and Paul Cothran and two sisters, Virginia Sturgis Robinson and Sybil Porter.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Wolfe Cothran; one daughter, Judy Edwards (husband, Jerry Edwards, Jr.); Granddaughter, Michelle Mullins (husband, Cal Mullins); grandson, Joey Vandergriff; Great Grandkids, Anna Kate and Caroline Mullins.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 10:30 am in the Lynn Haven Cemetery.
