Joseph “Joe” B. Hall Jr, 77, of Ardmore, AL passed away peacefully with family at his side on May 14, 2024 at Athens Limestone Hospital. Joe was born in Huntsville, AL on October 1, 1946 to Joseph B. Hall Sr and Mary Alice Morris Hall.
Joe grew up in Toney, AL and attended Sparkman High School. After high school, he joined the Marines where he served until October 15, 1965. Joe worked for the US Postal Service for 40 years until retirement in 2006. Coaching his sons’ baseball teams and hunting were some of his favorite past times. He was also an avid fisherman. Joe worshiped at Sweet Springs Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph B. Hall Sr and Mary Alice Morris Hall, sister Jane Harris, and his son Christopher Young.
He will always be remembered by his wife Shirleon Hall, Brother Edward Hall (Joni), Children Joey Hall (Alethea), Valerie Thomas (Marty), Ashley Hall and stepson Michael Schneider. Grandchildren Zack Hall, Colby Hall, Tanner Hall, Timothy Hall, Adam Thomas, Katherine Richardson, Robby Baker, Westyn Hall and Chance Hall. One great grandson Jackson Hall and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mark Hall, Adam Thomas, Tanner Hall, Robby Baker and Caleb Richardson
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2PM at Hazel Green Funeral Home. The family will begin receiving friends at 12PM. Burial will follow the service and will be in Charity Cemetery.
