Joseph Ignatius Thomas “Joe” McGill, age 78 of Huntsville, passed away Wednesday at Huntsville Hospital after battling a prolonged illness. Joe, a native of Jackson Heights, NY, has lived in Huntsville for the past 28 years. He was an Army Veteran following in the steps of his older brothers. An Engineer and Finance Professional for Grumman Corporation for almost 30 years. He had a long and storied career with job posts in New York, Kennedy Space Center, Houston, Tehran & Shiraz, Iran, Montreal, Reston, and Huntsville. An avid traveler he and his beloved wife Karen have crisscrossed the United States and Europe surrounded by family and friends; a stranger he never met. A Christian man with a heart and love for his family, he will truly be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Elizabeth, and siblings.
He leaves behind a devoted and loving wife of 32 years, Karen, and daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne (Gagne) & Tony Glover.
