Joseph Henry “Joe” Howard – Obituary

joeJoseph Henry “Joe” Howard, 64, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a sudden illness. He was born September 18, 1950, in Calhoun City to Grady and Marguerite Green Howard. A longtime resident of Plantersville, he worked for Master-bilt in New Albany as an upper level accountant, retiring in 2013. Joe was a proud graduate of Mississippi State University and loved cheering on MSU sports teams. He enjoyed Civil War History and was always ready for a game of chess. Joe loved being outdoors, whether he was fishing, riding his tractor or walking his land down by the lake. He was devoted to his family and loved the special times they shared together.

Services will be 12 noon Monday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phillip Box officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Visitation will be 11 am to service time Monday.

He leaves behind his wife of 41 years, Brenda Box Howard of Plantersville; his daughter, Amanda Howard Saito (Akihito) of Memphis; his son, Joseph Howard of Franklin, TN; and a sister, Beth Howard Lafayette (Eddie) of Amory.
