Joseph Edward “Joe” Clemmons

Joseph Edward “Joe” Clemmons, 66, won his battle on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 after a long, courageous fight against Multiple Myeloma. He was a member of Underwood Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Rose Clemmons.

A devoted and loving husband, Daddy, and Papa Joe, he leaves behind his wife, Cindy, daughter, Katie Sullivan (Chase), son, Christian Clemmons (Lexi), grandson and namesake, Arthur Joseph “Artie” Sullivan, sister, Carolyn King (David), nieces, Jessica Magnusson (Zack) and Jennifer Thompson (Blake), great nephews, great niece, and loyal canine companions, Daisy and Scout.

Upon graduation from Bradshaw High School in 1975, Joe began his career as a painter at ECM Hospital where he worked for 37 years. It was there that he perfected his trade, met the love of his life, and made lifelong friendships.

The happiest days of his life were the ones he spent at Underwood Ball Field coaching his kids’ softball and baseball teams. He made memories and friendships that he cherished and reminisced about for the rest of his life.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 22, 2023 beginning at noon. A Celebration of Life will be at 2 o’clock in the chapel with Rev. Charley Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park officiated by Bro. Donnie McDaniel. Pallbearers will be Philip Drake, Jimmy Craig, Wayne Oldham, Jerry McFall, David Springer, Bill Simpson, Stacy Horton, Chad Christopher, Wesley Terrell, and Zack Magnusson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
