Joseph David “Dave” Hamlin, age 69, of Huntsville, died on Thursday September 25, 2014.
Mr. Hamlin was a member of the Corinth Mississippi Jaycees, State President of the Mississippi Jaycees, and International Vice President of Jaycees. He was also the former Chief of Staff for Cliff Finch, Governor of Mississippi, a member of the Limestone County Economic Development Board, owner of Vacuum World in Corinth, MS and Huntsville, AL, and a member of the Huntsville Park Church of Christ. Mr. Hamlin was also employed by A L Sales as a Sales Manager and currently as a consultant. He is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy McCoy Hamlin; his son, Keith Hamlin; his parents, Dave and Sadie Hamlin; and his brothers, Horace Ellis and Gordan Ellis; and his sister, Faye Nicolson.
Mr. Hamlin is survived by his children, Vicky Askew and husband James, and Tim Hamlin and wife Renaee; his grandchildren, Joey Hamlin, T. J. Hamlin, Devin Wilson, Patrick Shields, Palmer Askew, Riley Gregory, and William Gregory; his great grandchild, Kaitlyn Hardy; his brother Howard Ellis, and his sister Janice Fowler.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Shields, John Petty, Palmer Askew, T. J. Hamlin, Phillip Mercer, and Arnold Singh.
Funeral services will be on Sunday September 28, 2014 at 3pm at Huntsville Park Church of Christ with Don Cox, Steve Mercer, and Charles Washburn officiating. Burial will follow in Limestone Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday September 27th from 5pm until 8pm at Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville.
