Joseph Daniel Maroney, 53 of Jacksonville, Alabama passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of April 9th, 2022. Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, Myra Joyce Maroney & Derrell Maroney, and his sisters, Dana Lynn Millender, Dixie Maroney Dover, & Kimberly Joyce Maroney, as well as his niece & nephew, Elyse Michelle Millender and Theodore Louis Arighi IV. Joseph was born on September 30th, 1968 to Myra Joyce Maroney & Derrell Maroney in Hampton, Virginia. After Joseph graduated from Madison County High school, he went into the Hospitality industry shortly thereafter. Joseph went on to have one daughter, Autumn Elizabeth Maroney. Joseph was first and foremost a family man who went out of his way to support and help his family in any way that he could. His fondest love was his daughter, which was a common source of conversation with him. This love also extended to, and included a high level of respect for his son, Autumn’s husband, Mitchell Lautigar. His pride for their combined future often lead him to speak of how he was “going to spoil his grandchildren rotten.” In his work and personal life, Joseph was known to “bring the sass” and “being quite adept at the multi-uses a cane provides.” He took pride in his work, and spoke highly of his coworkers and staff who rose to all the challenges the hospitality industry provides. He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Autumn Elizabeth Maroney & Mitchell Lautigar of Huntsville, Alabama. He is also survived by his brother, Dwayne Maroney, and sister, Ivy Maroney, as well as many nieces and nephews whom he adore.
