Joseph Carl Thompson, age 56, of Tuscumbia, died Thursday, July 24, 2014. Visitation will be Sunday, July 27, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home in Tuscumbia with Rosary following at 7:00 p.m. The funeral will be Monday, July 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Shoals Catholic Church with Father Anthony Weis and Father Don Forsythe officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mr. Thompson was a native of Colbert County, a graduate of Deshler High School Class of 1977, a member of the IBEW Local 558 and the Knights of Columbus. He was a retired electrician from TVA and a member of Our Lady of the Shoals Catholic Church.
Preceding him in death was his brother, Timothy F. Thompson.
He is survived by his wife, Carmel Thompson; sons, Chris Thompson and wife, Reyna, Brad Thompson and wife, Amber, and Austin Thompson; daughter, Allison Thompson Montgomery and husband, Brock; parents, Carl and Dorothy Thompson; brothers, Paul Thompson, Tom Thompson and Mike Thompson and wife, Sandra; sisters, Constance Weemer and husband, David, Anne Cain and husband, Randall and Mary Thompson; grandchildren, Emily, Brandi, Cameron, Claire and one on the way; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers are Joey Slatsky, Chris Slatsky, David Burford, Rick Young, Matt Thompson, Jason Thompson, Chris Boston and Ryan Thompson.
Honorary Pallbearers are Bill and David Stell.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America.
