Joseph "Joe" Albert Zocher, Jr. Profile Photo Joseph Albert Zocher, Jr., 81, passed away on November 1st, 2024. He was born on May 12th 1943, to Joseph Albert Zocher, Sr. and Sylvia Piech. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. After graduation, he served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Enterprise during the Vietnam War. During his time in the navy, he became qualified in nuclear power.

Joseph met the love of his life, Linda Ann Helfenstein, while stationed at the naval shipyard in San Francisco. They got married in November 1969 and moved to New York where Joseph began his civilian career in Engineering. He would work for the same company for his entire working career. Promotions from Project Manager to Engineering Manager led to moves to Oklahoma and then to Ohio.

Once retired, Joseph and Linda settled in Jackson, TN to be located in a central location for their adult children and families to visit. Joseph was an avid gardener, master sudoku player and was so good at crossword puzzles, he could complete them in pen! He adored his grandchildren and loved to play football and soccer with them whenever they visited. His stern rules as a father did not apply to the grandkids at all! He will be greatly missed by his entire family.

Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Sylvia Zocher, and son, Daniel Joseph Zocher. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Zocher, of Jackson, TN; his daughter, Laurie Trowbridge, and her husband, Brent, of Sapulpa, OK; son, Martin Zocher, of Oakfield, TN; and daughter, Karen Merheb, and her husband, Pablo, of Elmhurst, IL; and his sister, Susan Zocher of DeBary, FL.
