Jonathan Wade  Shurden

Jonathan Wade Shurden, 33, passed away on November 23, 2022 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Webster County.

Wade was truly one of a kind. He had a new love for traveling. He enjoyed world history, video games, teaching himself Spanish, and had a love for music.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Megan Shurden; niece, Scarlett Edwards; and grandfathers, Roy Shurden, Ronnie Huguley, and Benford Golden.

He is survived by his parents, Amy and Jonathan Smith of Maben, MS and David Shurden (Gwen), all of Maben, MS; son, Landon Cade Shurden of Memphis, TN; siblings, Morgan Roberts (James) and Kelsey Edwards (Alan), all of Mathiston, MS, Bryan Smith of Columbus, MS and Julia Smith, of West Point, MS, Blane Bowers (Savannah) and Kelsey Barmore, all of Maben, MS, and Kimberly Wylie of Winona, MS; grandparents, Ethelene Shurden and Barbara Golden, both of Mathiston, MS, Pauline Smith of Richton, MS, and Tom Wilson of Walthall, MS; numerous aunts and uncles; 4 nieces, 3 nephews, and his two lifelong best friends, Westley Scroggins and Daniel Roper.

Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, November 27, 2022 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS, with the funeral service immediately following in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Melvin Mordecai will conduct the service. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery in Mathiston, MS.
