Jonathan Ryan Dunlap, was born October 17, 1989 in Princeton, NJ and went home to be with Jesus unexpectedly on September 29, 2024 at the age of 34.

Ryan was a 2008 graduate of Virgil Grissom High School, and a 2010 graduate of Calhoun Community College. He served in the Army Reserves and was employed by Toyota Manufacturing in Huntsville. Ryan attended the Rock Family Worship Center. He had a heart for anyone less fortunate than himself and would generously give of his time and resources to help others. He was often referred to as a ‘gentle giant’. He was an avid history buff and was learning to speak Spanish in his spare time.

His most treasured time was that spent with his son, and the two were always exploring the outdoors, playing football or planning their next adventure together. On any given weekend, Ryan could be found with his son, and often times, nieces and nephews too, playing a game of laser tag, exploring a creek, or jumping on a trampoline.

In God’s perfect plan, it was Ryan’s time to leave this earth and take his place in Heaven. ‘God, give us the strength & courage to press on in this life, to love You & each other, until we are called home to Heaven one day too. Help us to honor Ryan’s memory by always putting you, Lord Jesus, first in our lives’.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind….Love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:37-39.
We love you Ryan, Rest in peace.

Ryan is survived by his son, Liam; sister, Lindsay Bruce (Brad); brother, Dylan League-Davis (Jenna);
parents, John and Amy Dunlap; Liam’s mother, Chelsea Wilson; paternal grandmother, Marvanell Dunlap; two nieces, two nephews, as well as a host of extended family.

Ryan will be remembered by his family & friends at Maple Hill Cemetery on Friday, November 15th at 12PM.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made on Ryan’s behalf to his son’s college fund @ https://gofund.me/81af3f07
