Jon Edward Threlkeld – Obituary

Jon Edward Threlkeld was born on October 10, 1933, in New York, New York, to the late James Sager and Bernadine Benfer Trelkeld Purkaple. On February 28, 1954, he was united in marriage to Kathleen MCarthy, who survives.

Mr. Threlkeld served his country honorably in the United States Navy during the 1950s; after his tour of duty, he worked as a self-employed construction contractor. Before moving to Savannah, Tennessee, he lived in Big Pine Key, Florida for forty years. He was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, in Savannah, Tennessee. He was very proud of all of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Threlkeld departed this life on November 26, 2013, at the age of 80 years, 1 month and 16 days.

In addition to his wife, Kathleen of Savannah, Tennessee, he is survived by five children: Jon Threlkeld and Larry Threlkeld of Big Pine Key Florida, Cindy Valiente of Morris Chapel, Tennessee, Deborah Jordan of Silon Springs, Arkansas and Laura Bell of Morris Chapel, Tennessee; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; and his dogs, Riley and Sam.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Threlkeld and one sister, Bernadine Tucl.

A service will be held in Big Pine Key, Florida.
