Joicy Hammond Murphy, age 91, of Florence, passed away Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014. Visitation will be Monday, Oct. 20, from 6-8 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home. The funeral will be Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Matt Heupel officiating. Burial will be in Dement Cemetery in Rogersville.
Mrs. Murphy was a member of Woodlawn Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walt and Tera Hammond; husband, Lloyd Murphy; and daughter, Jean Bailey.
Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Moss (Mark); son-in-law, Kenneth Bailey; sister-in-law, Fannie Hammond; grandchildren, Steve Baily (Sabrina), John Bailey, Keith Moss (Kimberly), Mia Brackin (Victor), Kippy Adcock (Billy), Mark Moss Jr. and Robbie Moss; 17 great-grandchildren and many loving nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be Steve Bailey, John Bailey, Keith Moss, Tyler Brackin, Billy Adcock and Victor Brackin.
The family would like to thank all of those who cared for her, especially Doctors Heaton, Aquadro, Kalliath and Stubbs.
