Johnny Wisdom, age 77, of Muscle Shoals, died Monday, March 9, 2015. His family will receive friends Thursday, 12-2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Brother Mark Mayfield of Leighton Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery.
He was a native of Lauderdale County and was a member of Lee Heights Baptist Church. He was retired from the City of Muscle Shoals where he served as Superintendent of the Street and Sanitation Dept. for thirty years. Johnny was an avid Colbert County Indian fan and was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Wisdom and Marguerite Cox and grandchildren, Magan Wisdom and Alex Denton.
He is survived by his wife Margaret Wisdom; sons, Johnny Earl Wisdom (Jean) of Tuscaloosa, Sammy Wisdom ( Michelle) of Leighton, David Wisdom (Michelle) of Muscle Shoals, Doug Wisdom (Stacey) also of Muscle Shoals; daughter, Teresa Wisdom Denton (Stan) of Muscle Shoals; brothers, Allen Wisdom of Killen, Freddy Wisdom of Florence; sisters, Carolyn Dunn of Greenhill, Debbie Holder of Florence, Nancy Bunting and Brenda Bradford both of Muscle Shoals, sixteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Harold Wisdom, Decota Wisdom, Brian Denton, Andy Wisdom, Grant Bond and Orlandus King.
The family express special thanks to Doctors Carmichael and McAnnally, Helen Keller Hospital staff, Brother Mark Mayfield, Brother David Gregg and to the many friends and family, “Thank You for your support and prayers the past two weeks”.
