Johnny Wilfred Walker passed away peacefully on December 4, 2021 at Traditions of Mill Creek in the care of Adoration Hospice in Brentwood, TN at the age of 86. He was born on March 28, 1935 in Louin, MS.

Wilfred was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Patricia “Patsy” Dunaway Walker, his Daughter Michele “Shelley” Walker, his parents Fred Walker and Ruby Smith Walker, his brother Larry Walker, and his Aunt Lois Smith. He is survived by his sister Janet Walker Donald, sister-in-law Fayne Walker, son John Walker, daughter-in-law Suzy Walker, his grandchildren Katie Walker and Sam Walker, and his nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Wilfred held a BS from Mississippi State University where he played Tennis for the Bulldogs and was a member of the M Club and faithful Bulldog fan. He holds multiple patents with both ITT and Schlumberger. He was a longtime member of Methodist churches in Corinth, MS, Tallassee, AL, Milan, TN, and Spanish Fort, AL. He served as Chairman of the Council of Ministries and Chairman of the Board of Trustees. He was looking forward to attending the first service at The Village Nashville on December 5th and had invited multiple friends from Traditions. He co-sponsored “Shelley’s Walkers” Relay for Life Team each year with his wife Patsy. Wilfred was a wonderful father and grandfather who was very proud of his two grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to The Village Church 7224 Old Burkitt Road, Antioch, TN 37013 or the American Cancer Society, in his memory.

The family is not having a service at this time and will hold a Celebration of Life for Wilfred at a later date. Interment will be at Henry Cemetery in Corinth, MS.
