Funeral service for Johnny Wilburn Self, 81, will be Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. J.L. Hopper officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday, April 26, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Mr. Self died on Friday, April 25, 2014 at Summerford Nursing Home. He was born December 13, 1932, in Blount County to Eldridge Major Self and Carrie Irene Fowler Self. Mr. Self was a past member and treasurer for the Hartselle Lion’s Club. He was a member of the Alabama Gourd Society and a member of the Southern Flywheelers. He was formerly employed by AT & T – Lucent Technologies as the North Alabama Area Telephone Office Installation Supervisor. He was preceded in death by his wife: Alta Mae Hopper Self, a daughter: Tamara Lynn Self , and his parents, two brothers: Edward and Harold Self, and two sisters: Pauline Knight and Annie Lee Barger.
