Johnny W. Hawkins, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at age 84.He was born in Madison county on March 3, 1940, to Henry W. and Kathrine Hawkins. He was a long time member of Oakdale Baptist Church, and he loved music, play the guitar and write songs. He was retired from Huntsville Utilities.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 19th, at McConnell Funeral Home from 6-8pm. A graveside service at Athens Memory Garden on Wednesday, at 2pm, with Brentley Hawkins officiating.
Pallbearers will be Bodie Hawkins, Sloan Hawkins, Dave Lewis, Cade Hawkins, Will Yarbrough and Ronnie Lewis.
Mr. Hawkins is survived by his son, Brent Hawkins (Kara); daughter, Kelly Lewis (Ronnie); grandchildren: Dave Lewis, Bodie Hawkins (Beth) and Sloan Hawkins (Hannah); and great-grandchildren: Cade Hawkins, Liddy Hawkins, Corbin Hawkins, John Emmett Hawkins, Kyler Hawkins and Walker Hawkins.
Preceding him in death are his parents, and one brother, Timothy Hawkins.
