Johnny R. Nunley, 82, of Iuka, MS passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and watching old westerns. He was survived by his wife of 54 years, Yvonne Nunley; his sons, Merle Helton (Cathy Boothe Helton), Doug Helton (Kathy Carr Helton), and Stanley Helton; his brother, Joe Nunley (Debra); his grandchildren, Beth Helton White (Lane), Dr. Ashley Helton, and Jared Helton (Ashley McCay Helton); and his great-grandchildren, Haley and Emma White and Willow and Everett Helton. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and 3 sisters. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. A private family service will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. Burial will be in New Prospect Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Merle Helton, Doug Helton, Stanley Helton, Jared Helton, and Lane White. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made to the New Prospect Cemetery Fund, or a church or charity of the donors choice.
