Johnny Jones, 83 of Union Grove passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023, at his residence. He was born November 24, 1939 in Marshall County, the son of Harve Jones and Della Griggs Jones. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a member of the Mountain View Baptist Church. He loved his family, along with his dog, Jackson.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years: Glenda Sue Horton Jones; son: Jeff Jones, wife Tammy; grandchildren: J. T. Jones (Savannah) and Kiya Foster (Kahle); great grandchild: Nora Kaye Foster; sister: Sarah Wright (Barry); brothers: Ronald Jones (Sue) and Donald Jones.; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded by his son: Phillip Jones; parents: Harve and Della Jones; siblings: Nell Jones, Wayne Jones, Laura Black, Rhonda Ponder and two that passed at birth.
Funeral Service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Mountain View Baptist Church with Brother Mike Whitt and Brother Jerry Bridges officiating. The burial will be in the adjoining cemetery, Gober Funeral Chapel directing. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Mountain View Baptist Church.
Pallbearers: Randy Smallwood, Steve Morrow, Ken Selby, Lanny Haney, Kenneth Green and Allen Bynum. Honorary Pallbearers: Don Entrekin, Gilbert Hixon, David Black, Jerry Cobb and Curt Cobb.
