Johnny Alan Brewer, 67, of Florence, passed away Aug. 22, at his residence. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Church of Christ. One of his greatest passions was watching his grandsons play baseball, he would travel all over the South East to watch them play. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his granddaughter. It didn’t matter if they were working in the garden, riding the Ranger or dancing, she was his “Little Princess”. He was also an avid Alabama Football fan and he absolutely loved pulling a good prank on his loved ones. Survivors include: Wife of 49 years: Cathy Flippo Brewer Daughters: Cassie Chamblin (Tony) & Anna Humphries (Tobey) Sisters: Kenya Henson, Kathy Richey & Christine Baggett Grandchildren: Colin, Colton & Anna Claire Chamblin Preceded in death by: Parents: Johnnie Parkes Brewer & Dorothy Christine Liles Brewer Brother: Roger Brewer Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021, from 5:00 – 8:00pm, at Greenhill Funeral Home. There will be a private graveside service at a later date. The family requests that all friends and visitors please wear a mask and practice safety precautions. Honorary pallbearers will be: Colin Chamblin, Colton Chamblin, Tony Chamblin, Tobey Humphries, Dennis Butler, Chad Butler, Matthew Stutts, Tommy Coker & Lois Coker. The family would like to thank Dennis & Sheila Butler for being by their side during this difficult time, and also Compassus Hospice, especially Brooke & Amanda. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, in his name.
