Johnnie Ray Works, a local business owner of Works Rental Properties, 79, of Corinth, MS passed away at his residence on Thursday, June 6, 2024. He was born in Corinth, MS on July 20, 1944 to the late Arnie Ray Works and Maurgrite Jobe Works and was a member of Oakland Baptist Church. Mr. Works enjoyed hunting duck, deer, but above all, he had a special love for fishing. Those who knew him will remember his joy in spending time by the water, casting lines and creating lasting memories. His loving family and friends will forever cherish the moments shared with him. Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 pm Sunday, June 9, 2024 at Magnolia Funeral Home – East. A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Works will be Monday, June 10, 2024 at 11 AM at Magnolia Funeral Home – East Chapel officiated by Bro. Chuck Hassell. Interment will follow in Wheeler Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Tyler Heavener, John Wiley Works Jr., Garrett Works, Ray Latch, David Wooten, and Jeff Palmer. Magnolia Funeral Home – East is entrusted with the local arrangements. Those left to honor Mr. Works memory include his wife of 59 years, Wanda King Works; his daughter, Kim Works Palmer (Jeff); his grandchildren, Tyler Heavener, Taylor Heavener, Trinity Heavener, John Wiley Works Jr. (Parrish), and Garrett Works (Whitney); his great grandchildren, Hadley Ray and Bentely Baswell and soon to be born Bennett Hays Works; his sister, Jamie Jones Smith; his mother-in-law, Vera King; other relatives, and a host of friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, John Wiley Works; his maternal grandparents, Johnnie and Ganell Jobe; and his father-in-law, James Hayward King.
