Ms. Johnnie Mae Davison was born on March 28th, 1948, in Madison County, Alabama to the late Iretta Wade Pettus and Lawerence Davison. She gained her wings on Friday, May 31st, at her home.
Johnnie accepted the Lord as her personal savior at an early age. She joined the Union Hill CPCA under the leadership of the Late Pastor McKinley Jones.
Johnnie was educated through Council High School. She was employed with Mallory Capacitor company for many years. She left Mallory and continued her career with Huntsville Hospital System working at the Huntsville Hospital Child Care Development Center for over 20 plus years, where she loved the kids and her co-workers until her death.
Johnnie loved her family, she loved people. She loved cooking, dancing, she showed her family and friends great hospitality. She loved to dress, she loved shopping, and she loved her home décor. And she was always ready and prepared for a good road trip. Johnnie was the true definition of a D.I.V.A.S she will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, siblings and her entire family.
Johnnie was preceded in death by her brothers: Robert Pride, Larry Wade, Rickey Pettus, and Wayne Pettus.
Johnnie leaves to cherish her memories: one loving and devoted daughter, Janice D. Houston; one loving and devoted son, Unterria J. Davison both of Huntsville Alabama. She leaves behind five loving granddaughters: Paris Kimbrough, Quasha Graves, Alexis Anderson, Chandler Oliver, and Ashley Davison; five loving grandsons: Jarqwez Jones, Tyler Houston, Michael Houston Jr., and Malik Houston, and Ryan Woods. She leaves to cherish her memories her great grandson who she helped raise, Xavier Kimbrough. She also leaves to cherish her nine great grandchildren. Her memories will forever live in the hearts of her siblings: her only sister Ms. Brenda Briggs; her two brothers: Phillip Pettus and John Pettus; two sisters-in-law: Lidia E. Mercado and Debbie Pettus; a special aunt, Johnnie P. Wade; one great aunt, Ada Mosley of Huntsville, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins to cherish her memories, and two dear friends: Ada Robinson and Ann Ray.
The funeral service for Ms. Johnnie Mae Davison will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the Saint James Cumberland Presbyterian Church (2950 Jeff Road, Harvest, AL 35749) with Pastor Byron McGlathery officiating. Interment will be in the Meadowlawn Garden of Peace. Ms. Davison will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.
Public viewing will be held from 1:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Friday, June 7, 2024 and 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the Royal Funeral Home.
