Funeral services for Johnnie Mae “Nonnie” Pope, 94, will be Sunday, March 1, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Pearl Jenkins officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Florence City Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, March 1, 2015, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Pope died on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, at Falkville Health Care Center. She was born June 3, 1920, in Madison County to Charles Thrift and Lula (Martin) Thrift. Mrs. Pope was an avid babysitter and avid quilter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Cecil Pope, sisters, Opal Gray and Margie Beeman, and her brother, Charlie Thrift. She was a loving aunt and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include four nieces and four nephews.
