Johnnie Lee Wood, age 92 of Smyrna, TN passed away Friday, August 20, 2021 at his home. Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Monday, August 23, 2021 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home with Rev. David Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Greenbrier Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends 3pm to 7pm on Sunday, August 22, 2021 and 9am until time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
He was born in Adams, TN on July 25, 1929 to the late Ray and Elizabeth Spry Wood. He was also preceded in death by his wife Helen Delores Stack Wood; brother, Bobby Harned Wood and sister, Fannie Mae Wood. He worked as a Brick Mason in the housing industry. He loved his family very much and enjoyed traveling and fishing.
He is survived by wife, Linda Joyce Brothers Wood of Smyrna, TN; children, Johnnie Lee (Velma) Wood, Jr of Springfield, TN, Deloris (Dewey) Edwards of Springfield, Tn, Mary King of Smyrna, TN; step-children, Ronald (“Naty”) Brothers of Nashville, TN, Donna (Randy) Massa of Smyrna, TN, Tony (Angie) Brothers of Smyrna, TN; siblings, Barbara Wooden, Jerry (Dorothy) Wood, Brenda (Randy) Wilmore, Billy (Carolyn) Wood; 8 grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, 8 step-great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
