Johnnie L. Prince of Lexington passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 13, 2024 surrounded by family and friends. Visitation will be at Jackson Memory, Friday, August 16, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 pm, directly followed by the funeral service. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery.

Johnnie was raised in Town Creek, AL and attended Hazlewood High School, and was a HUGE Hazlewood supporter.

He was a member of First Baptist Church. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber. Johnnie was a member of the Town Creek Masonic Lodge and the APA Pool League for over 25 years.

He played softball for many years and loved coaching ball. He coached little league and girls softball with his children, traveled many miles and made many friends along the way. Johnnie also loved to play and coach pool. He played in many leagues, and several teams and those were some of the best years of his life. The friends he made and played pool and softball with were family to him. Johnnie also loved Alabama football, and never forgot his roots or the people who shaped his life.

 

Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents, John and Edna Prince.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Tammy Hawk Prince, son Jonathan “Cody” Prince and a daughter Taryn Prince. He is also survived by special family members, Nikki Phillips(Josh), his best buddy, his dog  Wally and his granddog Cooper.
