Johnnie Morgan Profile PhotoJohnnie Johnston Morgan, age 92, of Lutts, TN, passed from this life on August 26, 2023, at her home in Lutts. Ms. Morgan was born September 7, 1930, to the late Robert Johnston and Mabel Keeton Johnston of Bethel Springs, TN, but was raised in Clifton TN, by her grandparents, the late Dr. and Mrs. J.T. Keeton. Ms. Morgan married John David Morgan of Lutts, TN, in 1955, married 65 years before being preceded in death by Mr. Morgan in 2020. Ms. Morgan taught at Collinwood High School and Pinhook School for 30 plus years, as well as staying very involved with the Rural Letters Carriers Association where she and Mr. Morgan served as junior sponsors for several years. Ms. Morgan received several teaching accolades, including being named an Outstanding teacher in 1993. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and spending time with family. Ms. Morgan was a devoted member of the Lutts Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, Ms. Morgan was preceded in death by her only brother Robert Johnston of Waynesboro, TN.

Ms. Morgan is survived by one daughter, Lisa Reitz and husband Jerry of Redington Beach, FL; one son, John Morgan and wife Linda of Sunset Beach, NC; two granddaughters, Morgan Reitz and fiancé Allen Bagwell of Atlanta, GA; Savannah Morgan and Fiancé Brett Bottomley of Charlotte, NC; and one special niece, Loyce Kelly and husband Scott of Waynesboro, TN.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, at the Lutts Baptist Church with Ron Hale officiating. Interment at Lutts Community Cemetery to follow with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Janet Smith Foundation thru Peoples Bank or the Lutts Baptist Church.

Pallbearers include Keeton Kelly, David Earl Daniel, Shannon Daniel, Randy Abrams, Sandy Abrams, Mark McFall, Keith Wilbanks and Herbert Luker.
