Johnnie “John” Eldon Kimbrough, age 74, of Russellville, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at his residence.
John was a good man, a devoted husband, and a loving father. He enjoyed being out in nature, hunting, fishing, and being able to go to the Sale Barn every week. He never met a stranger, was always freehearted, loved to joke around and make you laugh. He was the type of man who would help anyone he could. He was loved by many and will be missed by everyone.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 12 years Kathy Fretwell Kimbrough; daughter, Lisa Kimbrough; stepdaughters, April Gandy, Ashley Thompson; step-grandchildren, Simeon Broome, Levi Bryant, Malachi Minor, Uriah Thompson; sister, Jan & Royce Bragwell; and a host of nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shara Lynn Kimbrough; parents, James Eldon & Vivian Louise (Winstead) Kimbrough; and brother, Timmy Wayne “Bro” Kimbrough.
The visitation will be 12-2 pm Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Bro. Roger Jones officiating the service. The burial will be at Belgreen Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be Ryan Boyd, Malachi Minor, Uriah Thompson, Jerry King, Tracy Terrell, and Ryan King.
The family would like to extend a sincere thanks to all of the health care employees that has taken care of John over the years.
