Funeral service for Johnie Scott, age 76, of Trinity, will be Sunday, March 15, 2015, 2 p.m. at Ridout’s Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Prince and Rev. Edward LouAllen officiating. Visitation is Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Scott, who died Thursday, March 12, 2015, at his residence, was born February 14, 1939, in Franklin County to Johnny and Ophelia Burrow Scott. He worked for Diamond Jewelers and Jimmy Smith Jewelry and was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mattie Scott; one daughter, Donna Gilliland and husband, Ronnie; two sons, Terry Scott and wife, Valerie, and Tim Scott; one brother, Athel Scott and wife, Hazel; two sisters, Shellie Hancock and Bettye Scott; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
