Johnie Fay Edwards Reese left this walk of life on earth to enter her eternal home in Heaven on Friday, June 10, 2023 from her home of 40 years in the Old Union Community west of Shannon. Johnie Fay was born on November 12, l932, living a long, fruitful life of 90 1/2 years. She was one of 10 children born in Monroe County to the late Johnny and Cleo Crouch Edwards. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Nettleton and Union Chapel Baptist Church. Johnie Fay was a hard worker and spent most of her life employed in the furniture industry. She raised her two children alone while their dad was a traveling construction worker. She loved and worshiped her family, especially her two children, David and Brenda. Her heart was broken and she declined quickly after God called her son, David, home on March 30, 2023. Johnie Fay was head strong and plain spoken! If you didn’t want to know how things should be, you better not ask her for she would tell you quickly. She will be greatly missed by all her friends and family.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 1 PM Friday, June 16, 2023 at Victory Baptist Church (124 Elliott St., Nettleton) with her pastor, Bro. Robert Earl Fowkles officiating. Burial will follow in the Wren Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5PM-7PM on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo Chapel.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Stanford (Jerry); her brother, Jimmy Edwards (Judy); daughter in law, Gayla Reese; 4 grandchildren, Rodney Stanford (Mitzi), Scott Stanford (Jessica), Sommer Reese and Shawn Reese; 12 great grandchildren and 6 great great children and a multitude of nieces and nephews. Johnie was preceded in death by her parents, her son, David, 4 brothers, Herman, Hollis, Shorty and Jerry Edwards and 4 sisters, Josephine Beasley, Ludie Payne, Joanne Payne and Judy Rushing.

Pallbearers are Richard Armstrong, Rodney, Armstrong, Scott Stanford, Shawn Reese, Jonathan Stanford, Colby Stanford. Honorary pallbearers are Devan Gilleylen, Jordan Gilleylen and Brandon Stanford.

Memorials may be made to Victory Baptist Church, 124 Elliott St., Nettleton, MS. 38858. Holland Funeral Directors is honored to be serving their friends.
