John William Sims, age 81, of Guntersville, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his residence on December 18, 2024. Born on July 5, 1943, he was the beloved son of the late Bud and Virginia Sims.
John was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his children, Josh (Amber) Sims, Nancy Hyde, and Lynn Day; his cherished grandchildren, Brooklin Sims, Madison Sims, Kylie Sims, William Day, Justin Day, Courtney Long, Whitley Dalton, and Miranda Smith; and his adored great-grandchildren, Eli, Willa Kate, Jase, Jaxson, Bella June, Lydia, Jett, and Julia.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Reba Sims; his son, George Sims; his brother, Jack Sims; and his sister, Patricia Stephens.
The family will celebrate John’s life with a funeral service at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 23, 2024, at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home, officiated by Bro. Carey Sims. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM on the same day. John will be laid to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery, with pallbearers including Josh Sims, William Day, Justin Day, Jay Long, Wade Dalton, and Tim Lewis.
John’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever cherish the love and wisdom he shared.
